Lonicera japonica – Japanese Honeysuckle Soap

This is the first of our invasive species soaps, and we are excited about this one! Japanese honeysuckle is an alterative plant, but it is also an easily-spreading invasive in this part of the world, so we like to do what we can to help it not go to seed and spread.
Lucky for us, the flowers and stems of this plant have many medicinal properties, and are great for our skin! It is antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, depurative and diuretic. It can also be used to treat skin inflammations, infectious rashes and sores. And, it smells so good!! Slightly floral, but not overpowering.
We infused the honeysuckle flowers in jojoba oil, and added that to vegetable glycerin with calendula flowers and oil, and honeysuckle essential oil.
These soaps are poured into 4oz molds with various floral embossed patterns (the 2 examples in photos may or may not be the pattern you receive, they are random)
