As we enter July and leave the full Strawberry June moon behind us, I want to say hello to our new subscribers, and welcome back everyone else! So much has been happening behind the scenes, and we have lots of goodies to share with y’all, so please stay with me until the end.
I have been busy maintaining stock, foraging for my favorite herbs, plants. and those pain-in-the-butt invasive species, infusing oils that I use throughout the year in my soaps, salves, and other products, drying and preserving plants, and working in my garden.
Thoughts and plans of the plants and herbs I want to get established is quickly filling up a notebook, and there are so many new herbal products I want to bring to fruition, so many invasive plant species on the land that have been left to wreak havoc that need to be attended to, and will be. (I have to say, that pulling up invasive plant species is an amazing stress reliever, lol!) If anyone local wants to come to Berwick and help me relieve some stress, just hit me up and we’ll go take out some frustration on the 3 invasive species I am dealing with –
Japanese Knotweed, Morrow’s Honeysuckle and Bittersweet.

Big News For Sassy Skin & Soul Care

I started Sassy Skin & Soul Care just over 6 years ago in my apartment in Dover, where we have been running operations out of since. When I began, it was soaps and soaps alone. Since then, I have completed a Sacred Gaian Herbalist Apprenticeship that changed literally everything. Through my own experiences using big company body products and the damage they were doing to my skin and hair, and seeing others experience the same, I knew I had to offer healthier options for every day wellness care. And not just soaps and external relief, but internal as well. And that’s when Sassy Soaps rebranded itself to become Sassy Skin & Soul Care, and the products we offer increased significantly.

Being in an apartment has limited my ability to grow many of the herbs and plants that I use in my own space. This fall, after being here in Dover for the past decade, Sassy Skin & Soul Care and myself will be moving back across the state border, back home to Maine, where we will finally be planting our roots.
We will also have land and space, that not only desperately needs some TLC and stewardship, but that we can amend and grow and expand, and create a space that welcomes pollinators and creatures of all kinds. I will grow my own food. One of my many goal, besides growing the herbs and plants I use, is to bring the fireflies back, while living in reciprocity with the world around me. I want to create a space that welcomes all, and hopefully teaches others to do the same along the way. I may even start documenting the transformation, because it’s going to be quite the undertaking, and I couldn’t be more excited!

So, as we go through 10 years worth of stuff, and an insanely large apothecary, and pack it all up, we are taking this summer off from markets, until most likely October (don’t worry, we will definitely still be at the Dover Witches Market!). We are still here, making herbal goodies, receiving, packing and shipping orders, and answering any inquiries you may have, while also planning all the cool new gardens we will be growing, and the awesome products we are going to continue to offer for our community!

Tincture Class In Vermont

Back in May, I had the pleasure of attending a women’s wellness retreat hosted by my longtime friend Jocelyn and Wander With Intention: Sacred Travel. We spent 4 days/3 nights in Vermont, and I taught my first herbal tincture class, with a focus on building a Materia Medica and herbs that help ease stress, anxiety, and anger. I brought 8 different herbs, including some bitter herbs, as well as a Monograph for each one that could be used to start their own Materia Medica.
We discussed each herb, and it’s medical, magical and intentional properties, and everyone mixed together their own personal blend, depending on their desired outcome.
I had an absolute blast, and am hoping to get more into herbal education, teaching more classes about herbs, plants, and how we can incorporate them into our health routine, whether it is through soaps, tinctures, tea blends, or just going all natural.

The ladies in my class will be enjoying their tinctures for the first time on Saturday (after infusing for the suggested 6 weeks), July 4th, and I can’t wait to get some feedback about what they think of them!

Lilac Soap Pre-Orders & Spring News

Here we are again…Lilac Soap Pre-Order time!

This has been an interesting spring here on the seacoast in New Hampshire. Cold temps haven’t wanted to let go, and it seems the buds are taking longer than normal to emerge. And when they do, it is overnight.
I think yellow is one of my favorite colors because it is one of the first ones we see outside, whether it’s daffodils, dandelions, forsythia, or just the sun, shining brighter and longer during the day than the previous months.

Which brings me to our yearly NH Lilac Soap pre-order. If you missed my posts on FB, IG or Threads, the pre-order link has been live, and will only be up for a few more days.
The buds have started emerging (see above, that was today!). and it looks like they will definitely be opening this week. I will be removing the pre-order page the day before I harvest. New Soap Blends Have Arrived!

We have been busy over the last 2 months as we restock our inventory in time for market season. We have 2 new soap blends to share with you, and they have already been added to both our inventory, as well as our online storefront.

The first (pictured both above and below) is our ‘Life’s a Pain Soap’. We made this blend with our fellow Gen Xers in mind, and the physical aches and pains we have been dealing with as we get older….BUT this soap can be used by anyone, and has an  aromatic, stress-relieving scent, and many good properties for your skin.  This soap is made with Wintergreen we foraged for in southern Maine that was then infused into jojoba, castor and apricot oils; fir needle, cedarwood, calendula & camphor essential oils, ground pine and coconut milk, giving this soap stress and pain-relieving properties.

And the second blend we have added is the Awakening Soap (pictured below). This one is perfect after a long winter slumber, cold days and long nights. The ingredients are some of the first we see of the season (think daffodils, dandelions and nettles), and they help flush out, refresh your body and mind, clear the brain fog and detox your system.
Coconut milk, dandelion-infused grapeseed & Sweet Almond oils, calendula petals and ground Nettle, and calendula & narcissism (daffodil) essential oils give this spring blend a slightly floral and insanely refreshing scent.

Hello Beloved Community!

We are looking forward to the next Dover Business Trash Pick Up Hour with Deb from Don’t Trash Dover & Dover Doers. We will be meeting in the empty parking lot on Chestnut Street (the former NH Liquor Store and Goodwill stores lot) on Tuesday, June 2nd from 9a – 10a. Don’t Trash Dover does provide the orange vests, bags and the arm extender trash pick up tools. I have been bringing my collapsible wagon to put the full bags in, but that isn’t necessary.

Upcoming Markets & Events

We have a couple amazing events coming up that we are pretty excited to be a part of.
The first one is practically in our back yard. Join us on both Saturday and Sunday, May 30th and 31st for The Cosmic Gardens Music Festival. It takes place at the plaza on Main Street in downtown Somersworth, NH (next to the Post Office). Admission is only $15 for one day, or $20 for both, and all the ticket sales go directly to the 22 bands playing over the two days!
Besides live music, there will be small business vendors and artists, live demos, exhibits and interactive activities, food trucks and so much more! A pretty cheap day, but oh-so-rewarding! 2026 Stangl Karma Fest

Our next market is one that we have been traveling for during the past 2 years, and can’t wait to return to for a 3rd! Stangls 3rd annual Karma Fest is taking place all along Stangl Road in Flemington, New Jersey on Sunday, June 7th, from 11a – 5p. The day is family-friendly and free to attend, and is chock-full of family-friendly activities. The road will be full of small business vendors (including us!), as well as the businesses on Stangl Road participating. It’s an event we look forward to every year, and hope to see some of our NJ, NY and PA customers and friends there! For Our New Customers, a Bit About Us

For those of you that are new to Sassy Skin & Soul Care, here’s a quick tidbit about us…and by us, I mean me. My name is Christy, the Herbal Alchemist, Herbalist, and solo person behind it all. That means herbalist, product maker, website designer & maintenance, marketer, photographer, content creator, forager, bookkeeper, shipper, and whatever else comes up. I do it all.
I have been making soaps for over 25 years, and have spent the past 5 years growing Sassy from just offering soaps, to now having hair products. salves, tinctures, lip balms, cuticle creams, bug repellents. mineral salt soaks, mugwort cleansing bundles, chakra soaps, and facial serums, with more coming soon.
I work with alot of local plants, and forage for many of them here in New Hampshire and southern Maine. I also grow some of my ingredients, and the ones I do purchase are always done ethically and sustainably.
I never use synthetic processes, ingredients, or fragrance oils, and all of our packaging can either be thrown in the compost bin, or cleaned out, sanitized and reused.

I do have a certification in Sacred Gaian Herbalism, and love working with people to create custom blends for soaps, as well as tinctures and bitters. If there is any issue you are looking to address, or any allergies you may have, I would be more than happy to work with you to address your concerns. I won’t lie, the future of small businesses right now is uncertain. With rising costs all over the board, sales have been way lower than we anticipated, and we get it. Let’s Talk Calendula

As we settle into 2026, I wanted to take a moment to talk about a plant that has become a staple ingredient in almost every body product we make because of it’s amazing medicinal properties for our skin.
Calendula officinalis is not only a yellow show-stopper in the summer, but it is chalk-full of Vitamins A, C, E and K, Iodine, Manganese, Saponins, Tannins, Flavanoids, Carotenoids, Antioxidants, Triterpenoids (anti-inflammatory), and Fatty Acids.
It is praised for it’s ability to heal wounds, soothe skin conditions of all kinds, and even provide emotional balance. It has little-to-no fragrance and gives any oil you infuse it in a slightly yellow tint, which makes it the perfect addition to products for even the most super sensitive skin.

Over the past few years, we have started growing our own calendula flowers, so that we can work directly with this plant and her amazing benefits, and infuse her into Jojoba oil to add to our body products. It gives us a deeper understanding of this beautiful and beneficial plant, and helps us create a more sustainable and ethical product for all of you, while knowing exactly where our ingredients are coming from.

Because Calendula is rich in Flavanoids and Triterpenoids, it supports a healthy microbial balance and eases inflammation. It can help ease sun burn and minor burns, cuts and scrapes, itchy and irritated skin, diaper rash, and acne and skin redness.

Calendula also supports our Lymphatic and Circulatory systems by easing lymphatic congestion and promoting restoration and balance by allowing the body to easily pass and get rid of toxins.
This plant also helps protect and ease the symptoms of tired and irritated eyes from overuse by reducing swelling, redness, and discomfort.
It’s also an excellent tool for Womens Health by promoting healthy blood flow while easing menstrual cramps and pelvic tension. It can soothe dryness and discomfort, as well as help the skin heal after childbirth.

And lastly, if used in a tea blend, Calendula can help ease digestive discomfort, expel excess gas, and help soothe and calm an upset stomach.

If you are someone who has sensitive skin, and do not want any type of scent, or additives you may be allergic to, you may want to give our Plain Jane soap a try.

New Lip Balm Flavor, who ‘dis?

Hello, beloved Community!

We recently met up with Deb from Don’t Trash Dover & Dover Doers, as well as our friends at The Nook Breakfast & Lunch, The Brunch Club Dover, Ryan Levasseur, The Dover Area Women’s Club and others for a business trash pick up session around downtown Dover, NH. This is our 2nd time getting out into the community for this event, and it’s one of our favorite ways to volunteer some time, meet others, and help keep our community clean! We can’t wait for the next one in spring 2026!

Our Last Market of the Year…

…will be on Saturday, December 6th at the Center For Wildlife’s Holiday Bazaar and Maker’s Market Fundraising event. The market features close to 20 local vendors and small business owners set up throughout the Center from 11a – 3p. Each vendor donates 20% of our sales back to the Center, so it’s a really important day for not only the Center and their 2026 budget, but for all the amazing and wonderful Animal Ambassadors that calls the Center home, as well as the thousands of animals they will treat throughout the year.

Along with my contribution in sales, I will also be introducing a new 3D owl soap at the market. 100% of the proceeds of the owl soaps will be added to our Center For Wildlife donation, this season as well as throughout the year. We will also have a new aromatherapy rollerball blend that I think you’re going to love, as well as our first herbal body powder that will be both talc and cornstarch-free! Summer Happenings & Stuff

Summer is in full swing now, and we have been quietly busy spending time outside, growing and gardening, nurturing, foraging, harvesting, learning from, and listening to the plants, the herbs. the fungi and the trees. We have also been building a new vegetable garden in a space that has low-quality soil and a little-to-nothing budget, and have been finding solace in knowing that I finally have a space to grow food, herbs and medicinal plants for my family and for you all, as I use them in my products throughout the year.

In late spring, we found a plethora of both the invasive Rosa multiflora, as well as Japanese Honeysuckle, and have had both of them infusing in their own jars in Jojoba oil for a few weeks now. Both will be used in soaps we’ll be making for our website, as well as the fall markets.
It was just before the Summer Solstice that we started seeing the bright yellow burst of color from the St. John’s Wort petals, and the beautiful white clusters of not only Yarrow, but Elder Flowers as well. We even found another spot to ethically forage some Sweet Fern and Mugwort (although both are quite plentiful all around my area, but not always in safe, non-sprayed places)

After finding the Mugwort and Sweet Fern, we were able to forage enough, with some Hemlock and White Pine from southern Maine, and Lavender and Rose petals from last years harvest, to make our Mugwort Cleansing Smoke Bundles, which are wrapped and drying as I type.
These will be available online and at the markets we will be attending starting in September, until we sell out. Keep reading to find out where we’ll be this fall!

We have some amazing markets booked for the fall, and we couldn’t be more excited to get back out into our community, both local and afar, and meet and reconnect while we talk herbal shop, body products, herbal remedies and music with y’all!
We plan on re-vamping the blends on some old favorites, including the Pentagram, Necromancer and Six Feet Under Soaps, and will have them all available to take home from any market, along with our Shampoo, Conditioner & Shaving Cream bars, Herbal Lip Balms, Salves, Facial Serums & Soap Bars, Mineral Salt Soaks, new Summer and Fall Soap Blends, our signature Herbal Soap Blends, Mugwort Cleansing Smoke Bundles, Cuticle Creams. Tinctures, and some fun new herbal products that are still in the works.

Pre-order your NH Lilac Soap Now!

Lilacs have always been my favorite flower for their amazing scent alone. Their sweet floral smell is a stress reliever, but you’ll probably be surprised to see just how many medicinal properties these very beautiful, very short-lived flowers also have.


Lilac flowers contain Vitamins A and C which help boost your immune system, and have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties as well. They can also give respiratory relief, and can help sooth and calm anxiety, making it a wonderful stress-relieving agent.

This year the soaps will be made with coconut milk and a small layer of vegetable glycerin, calendula and rosehip oils, and fresh New Hampshire Lilac petals (which also happens to be the official NH state flower). They will be available in a 4oz soap for $12 or a 5oz body bar for $15.

I harvest the lilacs when they are just opening and in full bloom, and make the soaps immediately, preserving as much of the medicinal properties as possible. I am at the mercy of Gaia and the weather, but I usually have these ready for shipping and pick up in the 3rd week of May. The pre-order page will be available until the day before I harvest. Once it is removed, ordering for the yearly batch will be closed.

I will only be making enough soaps for my pre-orders this year, and will not have extras after the season. To place your order, click the link below to pick your size and get your deposit in. A Sassy 2025 Indeed

Here we are, almost a month into 2025 already! I wanted to take a moment and thank all my wonderful customers and patrons that have, and continue to support me on this herbal body care journey. It’s really important to offer healthy and clean alternatives to the items we use to feel good, stay healthy and get through every day life.
The importance of working with plants, flowers, trees and fungi to keep our bodies in balance, our minds sharp, and our energies in check, has never been more prominent. Thank you for letting me share my ever-learning knowledge of what these beautiful beings can do for us when we work in reciprocity with them, with you. Thank you for all the sales, post and website shares, stops at the booth at the markets, the inquiries and questions, for the herbal discussions, and the likes and love. Times are hard for small businesses right now, and it’s people like you, and the need for what we do, that keeps us going!


The past month we have taken a bit of a break, and are trying to map out a bit of what the rest of the year is going to look like. We are looking to book markets from March through the end of 2025, so if you hear of any, please send me links/info/FYI…thank you!

Upcoming Late Winter Markets

We have a couple of events booked for March. On Friday, March 7th, we’ll be at Summerwind Jewelers and Goldsmith in Portsmouth, joining a few other small, local women-owned businesses for an evening of collaboration, community and connection. Grab a friend or two and come help us celebrate spring with this super fun networking event that celebrates community and connection! This event is open-house style and free, so stop by for as little or long as you can!

On Sunday, March 23rd, we will be joining Dark Forrest Oddities at the Ipswich Ale Brewery for their Feral Flea Market. Stop by between 1-5p, grab your favorite herbal goodies and check out the other awesome vendors, and grab a bite and an ale. Event is free to attend, and open to all ages.

Get Your Immune-Boosting Echinacea Tincture Now!

As much as we love summer, we have now hit mid-August, and that means fall is coming. And with it, cooler weather, and cold and flu season being just around the corner. Even before then, kids across the country will be returning to school, and germ season will be in full swing. Are you and your herbal medicine cabinet ready?

Lucky for you, we have been working with our lovely friend, Echinacea purpurea. More commonly known as the Purple Coneflower, this beautiful plant isn’t just total eye-candy in the garden. It is also a secret weapon in the medicine cabinet, and a blessing to our immune systems. We made a double tincture with glycerin and echinacea’s flowers, leaves and roots. This is safe for all ages, and will give an immunity-boosting burst of goodness that can be added to just a small amount of water.

Echinacea contains vitamin C, beta-carotene, tannins, polysaccharides, and caffeic acid. It is antifungal and antibacterial, and helps keep fungal and bacterial infections at bay. Echinacea increases macrophage (white blood cells) and T-cell activity, which are our first mechanisms of attack against foreign antigens entering our body. It is also full of polysaccharides, which also helps protect our cells from the invasion of bacteria and viruses.

It is recommended to start using the tincture at the early signs of sickness. We list all recommended doses on the bottom of the product page. Quantities are limited, as we like to make things in small batches to keep product fresh. This tincture will be good for up to a year in your medicine cabinet, and can be used as a preventative precaution as well.

When Invasive Plants Take Over

I like to take advantage of a not-so-ideal situation, and get to know our invasive plants and the medicinal properties they are known for. While stewarding the land and working to remove these plants from our local ecosystem, we are not only making space for local native plants to take root, and thrive, but we are getting to make wild foods and medicines from the roots and plants of the invasives for our community, whether local or afar.

We just released our first Invasive Plant Product that we are excited to share with you. The Lonicera japonica – Japanese Honeysuckle Soap, is made with the pretty flowering vine leaves, as well as the flowers, infused in jojoba oil.
This plant is known to clear heat and eliminate toxins, and has many medicinal properties and pharmacological actions, including antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antitumor, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, central nervous system stimulant, antihyperlipidemic, gastrointestinal, antidiarrheic, diuretic, hypo and hyperglycemic, and antispasmodic.
For your skin, it is anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and an antioxidant. It contains Vitamins A, B1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 12, Vitamins C, D, E & K, Calcium, Copper, Iodine, Iron, Magnesium, Potassium, Sodium and Zinc among others.

Japanese honeysuckle flowers / Lonicera japonica

We combined the infused honeysuckle oil with vegetable glycerin and calendula flowers and oil, and are pouring these into various embossed 4oz soap molds. Quantities for the year will be limited to the amount of oil we have in stock, so don’t sleep on these, or you may be waiting until next years harvest!

We are so excited to be vending this Sunday at the Wild Mystic Summer Bazaar, right at Strawbery Banke in Portsmouth, NH! This is going to be a day filled with magick and wonder, as 80+ vendors gather to sell their amazing witchy wares, as well as food trucks, readings, and so much more!

Last Call For NH Lilac Soaps!

It’s that time of the year again, and the lilacs are in full bloom!! We are getting ready to go harvest and make our NH Lilac Soaps, and have been posting on social media about them, and wanted to make one last call to those of you that don’t follow us on FB or IG. We are only making these soaps to order this year, and will not have any left in the Storefront, so please reach out if you are interested, we are only taking orders until Tues June 21st, or until the lilacs start dying.

These NH state flowers are only blooming for a short season, and I am making them this weekend. We sell the 4oz rectangle soap bars for $12, and the 5oz body bars (shown above) for $15, plus shipping if applicable.
This year they will be made with a layer of each coconut milk and vegetable glycerin, calendula and hemp seed oils, tea tree and lilac essential oils, and fresh NH lilac flowers, and will be packaged in our compostable wrapping.

Travel Sized Body Care Is Here!

For those of you that don’t like to keep the good products at home while traveling, we have the perfect sized soaps so you don’t have to.
Each travel sized bar is 1.2oz, and you can easily fit 2-4 of the bars in one 5″ x 3″ x 2″ soap case (like the one shown). Imagine carrying your shampoo, conditioner, facial cleanser and body soap all in one case (or maybe 2, if you don’t like them touching, lol)

The first set includes our Strengthening Shampoo and Conditioner Bars, and the second set includes our I Love Facials face bar, and a Body Bar of your choice.
You can opt to buy each pair of soaps together, with a reusable travel case, or by themselves for easy refilling.

As far as the Body Bars go, there are a few options in the drop down box, as well as a Write-In Blend option. The write-in is where you can ask for other suggestions, or pick another soap that we offer, or just request your favorite oils and additives.

Once I stopped using store bought body products, I realized I needed a good facial moisturizer, and fast. My skin was very sensitive, and even as an adult, I was breaking out more often than I should. That’s when this blend was born, and I have been using it for years now, and my face has never looked so good, which is why I want to make it for you as well.

Our Wild Heart Facial Moisturizer is made from just a few ingredients, and offers amazing herbal benefits for you and your skin.

Vitamin E oil protects against UV damage, is anti-inflammatory and antibacterial, reduces red spots, scars and acne, provides hydration and helps reduce wrinkles.
Jojoba oil improves the skin elasticity and gets rid of flaky, dry skin. It also helps clear acne, reduces skin inflammation and soothes sunburns.

Stay Healthy This Season!

NEW PRODUCT ALERT!

It’s that time of the year again, and colds and flu season is upon us! We have created an Elderberry Decoction that can help fight off those nasty cold and flu viruses, and help prevent them from settling in in the first place.
Elderberries contain tons of Vitamin C, so they can help ease flu symptoms, protect your immune system, reduce the risk of chronic diseases, and has neuroprotective benefits. Throw in the added benefits from Ginger, Cinnamon, Clove, Orange and Lemon, and the Pre0biotic benefits of Burdock Root, and you have a blend that not only tastes delicious, but will help you not only get better, but stay that way.

Decoctions do need to be cooked, unlike a tea that just needs to steep, as both the elderberries and burdock root require it.
This decoction can be thrown in the water in the bag as-is, or you can dump the contents from the bag directly into the water, and strain when it’s done. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil, reduce the heat, add the contents and cover, and simmer on low for 30-45 minutes (make sure the heat remains low, to not cook off the medicinal benefits of the herbs).
Strain the pulp and compost, and serve the tea either hot or cold, with honey to taste. Mix does make 3 cups, and will stay in the fridge for days after simmering.
This blend is safe for all ages (although we recommend not adding honey for kids under 2 years old)

It’s that time of year again, and the lilacs are out in full bloom here in New Hampshire, and smell as divine as always!
We are now taking pre-orders and deposit’s for our NH Lilac Soaps.

Each soap will be made with a Coconut milk and veggie glycerin base, and will contain Lilac and Tea Tree Essential oils, Calendula and Hemp Seed oils, ground oats, and fresh NH Lilac Petals.

Each $5 deposit is non-refundable, and will be credited to your soap order when it is completed. You will be invoiced for your remaining balance, and any shipping fees, before shipments will be sent.
These soaps are only made once a year, and I am only going to harvest the lilacs needed, so don’t sleep on these spring beauties!

Sassy Shampoo & Conditioner Bars are here!!!

After switching back to soap bars and leaving body wash (and all the plastic waste) in the dust, I often wondered why I wasn’t doing the same with my shampoo & conditioners, and decided to make the change.
It took a little time, and alot of research, to come up with a formula we were happy with, but we prevailed.
Introducing our Strengthening Shampoo & Conditioner Bars. When we formulated these bars, we wanted ingredients that would strengthen hair, promote new, healthy hair growth, and prolong our natural hair color, while keeping our hair hydrated, full and shiny.

Super easy to use, just wet the bar and your hands, working up a lather. You can either apply the shampoo & conditioner with your hands to your wet hair, or use the bars directly on your hair. Keep on for a moment, and rinse out.

The Shampoo bars actually act as a 2-in-1, and can be used for shaving as well!

Now, let’s talk about the plastic waste you will not be throwing in landfills! Each bar is super concentrated, and will save you 2-4 bottles per bar! Because store bought blends are mostly water, you will not need as much of these concentrated bars per use.

The Beauty of Butterfly Pea Flowers

You may have seen these beautiful purple flowers during the summer, or maybe at your favorite bar, in a new, pretty purple cocktail. But what are Butterfly Pea Flowers, and what can they do for your hair, skin, and health?
SO MUCH!!!
These flowers are ruled by Venus, and are connected to Water. They have attributes of love, emotion, serenity and protection, and symbolize the perfect attachment to the divine (as you can see by their Latin name, Clitoria ternatea, and their appearance).
Butterfly Pea Flowers also inhibits glycation, the main metabolic process that leads to aging & the wrinkling of skin.
It is also regarded as a brain tonic.
Butterfly Pea Flowers stimulate acetylcholine, which is a neurotransmitter that declines as we age, but is responsible for so much! It affects our muscle movement, sensation of pain, and learning and memory formation. It’s also involved in the regulation of our endocrine system, which affects our hormone balance and REM sleep).
Butterfly Pea Flowers also have phenolic compounds that have antioxidant properties that support liver health, and is anti-microbial, which reduces postprandial glucose levels, helping Diabetics and blood sugar imbalances.
These flowers are also rich in ternatins, which alleviate inflammation and help prevent cancer cell growth, They also contain a potent bioflavonoid called anthocyanin, which increases blood flow to the scalp, and helps promote healthy hair growth. It is also a natural darkening agent, and can help keep hair your natural color longer, or even darken it.

We love Calendula (and why you should, too)

This amazingly-hardy plant is a burst of medicinal sunshine, and is also edible. Calendula not only helps skin retain moisture and stay hydrated, but it promotes cell repair and growth, making it a powerful vulnerary. The flower is also a powerful antiseptic and is anti-inflammatory. Used topically, it helps keep infections at bay, and is often used to treat bruises, burns, sores, skin infections & ulcers, and rashes.
It is a soothing and gentle flower, and is safe for babies, and often used to treat diaper rash, cradle cap, other skin irritations, and even thrush.
Calendula is also one of the most popular herbs in nourishing and cleansing the lymphatic system and assisting with swollen glands. It also works to help stimulate lymphatic drainage, and move congestion out of the body.

Cinnamon Coconut Lips…

Yes, please!! Introducing our new lip balm flavor, Cinnamon Coconut! We used a slightly different recipe than the others, and infused Cinnamon with Coconut and Olive oils, instead of the Jojoba and Sweet Almond. This subtle balm warms and soothes, while protecting and nourishing your lips, and keeping them kissable through whatever weather Gaia is throwing our way.

Those of you that know me, know I am heavily tattooed. I also have super sensitive skin, which has made life interesting, lol.
I was always looking for a lotion that would keep my tattoo colors vibrant, and help the black line stay heavy and not fade, and decided to make a salve that could incorporate all the above.
Lavender and Chamomile are not just soothing to the senses, but soothing to our ink-infused skin, and are the prime ingredients in this Tattoo Salve.

Beeswax, Lavender and Chamomile flower-infused Hemp Seed, Olive and Sunflower Seed oils, Vitamin E oil, and Lavender and Chamomile Essential oils make this salve anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antiseptic, a disinfectant, and helps deal with symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression and tension. We are so excited to announce that our new Sassy Lip Balms and our Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa Brown Sugar Lip Scrubs are now available!! Our lip line is cruelty-free (we do use beeswax and honey), and only made with natural, amazing-for-you ingredients meant to nourish, moisturize and protect your lips against free radicals and the harsh elements, while making them perfectly kissable. You will never find synthetic or fragrance oils, or any chemicals or preservatives in any of our products.
We currently have 4 different lip balm blends, and that will change on a seasonal basis. Custom orders are also available for lip balms, but there is a 5 order minimum.

Our Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa Brown Sugar Scrub is a wonderful companion for our lip balms. Protecting Endangered Plants

Back in October, I began my journey to become a Sacred Gaian Herbalist, and enrolled and started a three year Apprenticeship with Jessica at Blackbird’s Daughter Botanicals in Barrington, NH. I realized, my entire life. that I had looked at herbs, roots and plants mostly as culinary, or aesthetic. and never medicinal, and wanted to change that.

When I started making soaps professionally, and bringing these amazing-for-you products to the public, I wanted to do more than just offer healthy, smells-good options for soap and body products. I also wanted to walk through the woods, or any where in nature, and be able to identify the life around me, and know the benefits they may offer, or not. Forge them, in the most respectful way possible, and be able to offer them to you, and the amazing healing power of plants. I wanted to live a cleaner, healthier lifestyle. Not only for myself, but for this planet.

I wanted my products to help, to heal, to comfort, and to nourish the users mind, body and soul. I want to know everything about plants, and the magical ways they help and heal us, so I can bring those amazing healing properties to you.

Through this journey, I quickly became a member of the United Plant Savers. One of the first things they send, is a current list of the At-Risk Plants. As I looked it over, I was sad to see both Sandalwood and White Sage on the list.

And, because of this, and the importance of saving these magical herbs, plants and trees, Sassy Soaps will no longer be offering either of these as ingredient options for any soap or body care products.
If I had been aware of this list before, I never would have started using or offering them, and I highly, HIGHLY encourage you to stop buying and using products with either of these in them. There are many wonderful alternative options for both sandalwood and white sage, and we need to each take action to help preserve these precious beings from being wiped out forever.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but the importance of keeping these species on our planet, and not helping contribute to the stealing of these plants and trees from Indigenous lands, so they can be available to the public, is more important than any of our feelings or inconvenience, and I would be happy to discuss other safe and natural alternatives to both of these amazing beings of our planet with any of you, at any time.

A few months ago, Sassy Soaps became a member of the Qumran Records Family, and wanted to be there for Metal Mayhem 2022, a tribute night full of two stages and amazing bands, all in honor of our late friend Eric Wagner, who passed from Covid complications last August.

We are so excited to be making our first Chicagoland appearance this Saturday, August 27th at Brauer House in Lombard, IL. Sassy Soaps will be visiting with our family out there at Qumran Records, and will be selling our sassy stuff and band merch alongside Rena at the merch tables. Limited soaps, beard oils and chem-free bug repellents will be available. Anyone who puts in a custom order in person will receive free shipping on your order as well.

Sassy Beard Oils Have Arrived!!

What can we say, we LOVE a great beard! Made with a Jojoba, Calendula and Walnut Oil base, these beard oils will moisturize dry skin and hair, soften rough cuticles, have anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, help fight hair loss, promotes healthy hair growth and helps keep dandruff and dry skin at bay.
Meant to use once or twice daily, you only need a few drops at a time. Start rubbing the oil on your skin first, then work the oils out thru your beard hair, evenly distributing the oil.
**Can also be used by anyone on their head to promote healthy hair growth. Suggest using it once a week as needed. Apply directly to scalp, working the oil into your scalp and evenly distributing oil across scalp and through your hair. Leave on for 10-15 min, then wash your hair.**

Retail space, no more

I know, I know, we just moved in and got settled in our boutique in Hampton Falls, but are sadly being forced to move out, and will no longer be there after April 30th.

Not something we were planning on, but sometimes things happen that are out of our control, and we need to move on.

I am going to be photo-documenting my store inventory, and posting it here, as well as on FB Marketplace for furniture. Most items can be shipped, with the exception of large items and furniture, which will be local pick up only.

We will also be hitting some summer Farmers Markets and Craft Fairs, so please stay tuned to see the listings as soon as our spots are verified.

Happy New Year!

Hello everyone, and happy New Years Eve! It’s been quiet on the Sassy Soaps front, so I wanted to check in. Unfortunately, I tested positive for Covid on Christmas Eve this year. Altho I have been living with mild-to-no symptoms, I have decided to take the time off, rest and reflect, and start getting ready for the busy upcoming year.
I have not been making soaps at this time, and it has been strange, especially without symptoms.
January 4th, I will be back in full swing! Between getting back on track, and getting our retail space up and running, it should be a fun and prosperous new year!
I really hope to have some returning customers this year, as well as see many of your smiling faces in our store in Hampton Falls, NH.
Until then, stay safe and happy out there! Hope you all have a wonderful time ringing in the new year, and have a prosperous 2022!

Sassy Soaps Is Going Retail!!

Yep, you read that right! Soon Sassy Soaps will have a retail space here in The Shops at Hampton Falls! We are partnering up with a couple friends to bring you ‘Making Waves’. Our space here will include Sassy Soaps, as well as home furnishings & decor, and handmade gifts, jewelry. and other awesome wares! We will have this awesome space shown here with it’s own entrance. While here, you can also check out and shop from the other artists in the space.
Conveniently located at 27 Lafayette Road, we within 10 miles of I-95. We are hoping to have inventory in by the first week of 2022, and be fully up and running by Feb 1st.

Excited doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel right now! We will be closed for all business on my Birthday, 12/25, but will be open every other day for online/in person orders. We will also be busy getting our new space ready. Can’t wait to see you there!!

To say I am obsessed with music, is probably a bit of an understatement. So, when I saw this mold, I knew it had to be a part of the Sassy Soaps family. Now available, this mold weighs in at a whooping 6 ounces, and can be totally customized with your favorite essential oils and natural additives by seeing our selections HERE.
This soap was made with vegetable glycerin, honey, tea tree, palo santo, calendula and almond oils, and fresh marijuana leaves.

Bloody Eyeballs and Spiders, oh my!

If you can’t tell, we love Halloween around here….ALOT! Made a few fun new soaps last night, and threw the samples up in the storefront (at a discount, nonetheless). We do have a couple more spiders, as well as more bloody body parts, available for your custom Sassy Soaps, if you would like different scents, but quantities of both are super-limited, so hit us up as soon as possible to get the pieces you want!

We summon thee….

To try this new awesome Necromancer Soap, shaped like a Ouija Board! This new mold has been added to our Sassy Mold family, and is available for customization with your favorite essential oils nd natural additives.
This soap weighs in at 3.75 ounces. It is 4 inches long, 3 inches at it’s widest point, and about an inch tall.

This sample was made with Coconut Milk, Honey, Argan, Almond, Ylang Ylang, Frankincense, and Vanilla Essential oils, and was dry-brushed with a gold glitter dust, that is both non-toxic and skin-safe. Also shown without the glitter dust.

New Mold: The Pentagram Soap is here!

This might be my new favorite mold right now, and I am happy to present The Pentagram Soap to the collection! This baby weighs in at 6oz, and is 4 inches in diameter, and just about 1 1/2 inches tall.
I made the sample shown in 3 layers; the top and bottom have activated charcoal and poppy seeds, honey, peppermint, eucalyptus, lime, and calendula essential oils. The third, red, middle layer has coconut milk, honey, rosehip, almond, and rose essential oils, and rose petals. It is also dry-brushed with a non-toxic, skin safe red glitter.

You can also customize this mold with your favorite oils and natural additives here.

Top layer includes honey, the middle layer includes dried orange peel, and the bottom contains fresh honeysuckle flowers and lime sage leaves. All layers are made with Sandalwood, Sweet Orange, Marjoram, Calendula, Almond and Hemp Seed Essential oils. You get the best of both worlds, with gentle exfoliation with the orange peel, and the hydration of the Coconut Milk. Was $13, now $11.05!

5. The Owen’s Sisters Soap: This 4 oz. double-layer soap has Peppermint, Eucalyptus, and Calendula oils, activated Charcoal, and fresh mint leaves from the garden. The clear layer has Rose Hip, Ginger, Calendula & Almond oils, Honey, and Rose Petals. The charcoal gives gentle exfoliation while the Rose Hip oil keeps skin young and hydrated. Was $12, now $10.20!

6. The Three Sisters Soaps: This set includes (3) 2 oz. “100% Hand Made” soaps. All are made with Lilac, Calendula and Almond Essential oils, Honey, and New Hampshire-grown lilac flowers. The soap in the center has 2 layers, one with Vegetable Glycerin and the other with Coconut Milk. Lilac-flower soaps will not be available again until next year, so grab these while you can! Was $12, now $10.20!

7. Portrait of a Lilac Soap: This 4 oz. oval soap bar is made with Lilac, Calendula and Almond Essential Oils, Honey, Coconut Milk and NH grown Lilac Flowers. This beauty have 2 layers, and all bear a different lilac “portrait” made with the flowers. This will be the only batch available until next May, and there’s one left! Was $17, now $13.60!

8. The Laughing God Soap: The Laughing God brings good luck and fortune. This soap is approximately 4.25 in. x 3.25 in. x 1 in. This Buddha was made with Rose Petals, Honey, and Rose, Turmeric, and Calendula oils. Was $12, now $10.20!

9. This soap on a rope combines both our oval and rectangle 1 oz soaps. There are (3) yellow rectangles, and they are made with fresh honeysuckle from my garden, dried orange peel, coconut milk, honey, honeysuckle, lime, ginger and coconut essential oils. The (2) green soaps have both vegetable glycerin and coconut milk, lavender, almond and calendula essential oils. Was $16, now 13.60!

So, what exactly is The Sassy Soap Society?

Because ‘Soap of the Month’ Club is so 2000, the Sassy Soap Society brings you one of our artisanal soaps, every month, plus special discounts and contests just for SSS Members, to be used at any time, on any other Sassy Soap product. A secret room with secrets just for you.

Each month, you will get to pick from one of the two featured 4-5 oz. soaps, or our ‘I Love Facials’ bar, and get it shipped to you, for $15/month. Your choices will be included in our blog, as well as on your invoice. Send your preference in with payment, and stop having to worry about running out of your new favorite soaps!

You will also be offered to purchase additional soaps of the month at any time during that month, at a deep discount.
As a Sassy Soap Society Member, you will also receive 10% off any and all of your Sassy Soaps orders outside of the Society, at any time, while you are a member.
Memberships can be reserved in 3, 6, 9 and 12 month increments, and your price is locked in for that time. Memberships over 3 months are eligible for a one-month break during your cycle.

You can choose either the 1st or the 15th for your billing cycle. Payments are due within 3 days of receiving your invoice, and soap orders are made immediately following, with shipping out to you within a week.
